She Got Spiritually Tagged
GiBee tagged me for this godly little meme. How could I refuse?
1) What is your life verse: Luke 1:45 - "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished." (as in top, left-hand sidebar) Love, love, love it!
2) Give a bit of your testimony:
Oy vay! Okay. I was raised by a Christian mother who tends to be quite religious, and a father who professed to be, but turned away from the church at the first hint of hypocracy. He later accepted the Lord shortly before his death. I accepted Christ at age 14, was very involved in music ministry growing up, and walked away from all things church related at age 19 - just like dear ol' Dad, only a few years younger.
I spent the next 13 years (I call them my Dark Dozen), breaking every one of the ten commandments. Every day. When my first child was 3 weeks old, God used her to call me back to Himself. That was 13+ years ago. Since then, He has called me to do things that were totally outside of my comfort zone - things I still think of as my own personal Ninevahs. It's been wonderful!
3) Do you have a favorite preacher? Yeah. I do. Mark Driscoll. Here's the church. Here's the blog. If you're legalistic or don't like conviction, don't listen to him. If you want truth and Jesus, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, he's your man.
4) What's the best Bible Study you've ever done? It's always the one I just finished doing. I've done Precepts studies, Beth Moore studies, random book/workbook studies. Each time, I always think it's the best one ever until I do the next. God's always teaching me new stuff through Bible studies, and it's really exciting! I guess it just keeps getting better and better.
5) What do you feel God's calling is on your life? Obedience. Whether it's to minister to my husband and kids, to the women of my church, to women outside my church, to little kids in VBS, to other folks through my music, it's all about me doing what He calls me to do when He calls me to do it. I get that now !
