She Reflects
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12
Amy and Iris are two of the most humble and gracious bloggers I know. I'm honored that they visit my blog and am humbled that they passed the Blogger Reflection Award along to me. Thank you, ladies. You bless me with your friendship. Allow me to reflect this back at you!
update: Bonnie also bestowed this (much undeserved) award on me. Thank you, Bonnie!
One of the girls in my band wrote a song that contains the lyrics, "Let others see Jesus in me." While that is certainly the desire of my heart, I confess it freaks me out a little to think that might actually happen - that I could, in some tiny way, actually reflect something of Christ for others to see.
Just think - as image bearers of the Creator, looking like Him should be a given. Just as we display physical and behavioral attributes of our earthly parents, if it weren't for sin, we would naturally look like the Savior without even thinking about it.
Won't it be amazing when Christ returns and our transformation is complete!!
Meanwhile, here are a few of the bloggers in whom I see a reflection of Jesus:
1. GiBee over at Kisses of Sunshine. GiBee has a way of lifting others up, even when she disagrees with them. I've never seen a shred of self-righteousness from her. She's adorable and so friendly,(even in person!), and her blog is inviting and encouraging. I'm honored by all the time she has taken to share her thoughts and ideas with me over the past months and grateful for her friendship. Thank you, Gibee!
2. Kim at Hiraeth has a knack for pointing to the Creator through her appreciation for His creation. A fellow amateur gardener like myself, I always enjoy the snapshots of bugs and birds and rocks and plants that she tucks between her Spurgeon quotes. She inspires me to remember that my redeemer is also THE Master Gardener. Thank you, Kim!
3. His Singer over at His Unfinished Work. Whose thoughts on worship remind me that every believer is free to boldly approach the throne of the God of the Universe. (And she probably doesn't even realize she reflects that, which is another thing I love about her!) I've always longed for more musicians and worship-leading bloggers in my life and appreciate having His Singer in my blogroll. Thank you, Chris!
4. Pastor Mac's Ann over at It's Always a Production. I really admire people whose posts are concise. Each of her short posts packs a punch in the same way God packs a lot into one single verse. It's a joy and a pleasure to peek in on her family's godly lives through her posts. Thank you, Ann!
5. Susanne from Living to Tell the Story. When I think of Susanne, I think of faithfulness. She has been faithful to post, faithful to visit, faithful to encourage and edify, faithful to share her failings, faithful in her friendship...Unlike me. The most Faithful One has obviously gifted her with a bit of Himself and I see it. Thank you, Susanne!
The award originated Here. That's probably the best place to learn more about it. Here's what it says you should do:
1. Copy this post.
2. Replace [my bloggers with yours] & Reflect on five bloggers and write a least a paragraph about each one.
3. Make sure you link this post so others can read it and the rules.
4. Go leave your chosen bloggers a comment and let them know they've been given the award.
5. Put the award icon on your site [see here]
Now y'all go give the award to all the other bloggers I'd have given it to if I'd not been limited to only five!

Oh, you done gone and made me cry. I am extremely humbled that you would even consider me for something like this, Carol. I feel like I just got a great big hug.

Really? Wow! I'm humbled beyond what words could really express! I think that this is the most honorable mention I have ever received... and truly, as a Christian, my daily goal is to reflect Jesus, but this weekend? Yeah -- Not so much... I almost had blood shed on my kitchen floor ... all over one.twenty.month.old.child. How can that possibly be?
Thank you, my friend. Your sweet words have lifted my spirits and encouraged me! So, any time you want me to butt into your business and offer Godly ideas, you just email me, 'kay??? 'Cause I'm here for ya!

I'm not familiar yet with GiBee and His Singer (I'll go and check them out as soon as I comment!), but I agree wholeheartedly with your choices - Kim, Ann and Susanne are WONDERFUL examples of women who beautifully reflect their faith. GOod choices.

Thanks, Carol, for your kind words and for the tag, too! I wasn't sure you even visited my blog anymore. That made my day! : D
I'll try to get to it as soon as I can. I'm in the middle of a bunch of stuff this week, but I'll do it as soon as I can!
Blessings,
Kim
