She Digs Jesus
Barbara over at Tidbits and Treasures tagged me for this very hip meme. Because Barbara's hip that way.
Five Things I Dig About Jesus:
1) He was a radical. Unless you become like a child, you won't enter the Kingdom? Blessed are the poor in spirit, the mourners, the meek, the hungry, the merciful, the pure, the peacemakers, the persecuted? Some very counter-cultural stuff for a world that reveres wealth, status, money, fame, power and pride!
2) He was missional. Go and make disciples of all nations, love your neighbor as yourself.
3) He had a more profound and lasting effect on this world than anyone who has ever lived. More paintings have been painted of Him, more songs sung to Him, more books written about Him, more controversial discourse stirred up about Him, more lives changed because of Him than anyone who has ever lived. He even bifurcated time into B.C. and A.D. with His life and death.
4) He didn't put up with any nonsense. Rich folks, educated folks, powerful folks, religious folks...He put them all in their place. He rebuked His friends when they got out of line. While in a weaker, more mortally vulnerable state that I will probably ever experience, He even stood up to Satan!
5) He loves me so much, He wants to spend eternity with me. So He took on all my sins as His own and suffered the death I deserved to die. In return, He only asks that I trust Him in all things.
I dig that!

I love the reason why you 'dig' Jesus - the Lord of lords and King of kings...Do you think He would be still a revolutionary in todays society? Oh, wait a minute - He is *grin*...
