I Won, I Won!!!

I'm the Band Geek!!  Yay!

So, I share this award with everyone who voted for me and those who didn't but put up with my annoying campaign nontheless. No, you can't put it up on your blog.  I'm not THAT nice.

Seriously though, thank you for your vote of confidence.  I promise to fulfill the duties of this office to the best of my abilities and to put da Cool in da Geek! 

Woah.  I can already tell being a geek is going to be hard work. 

I was also awarded another prize this week.  Tara named me for the Proximidade Award.  Here's the jist: 

This is a very cool Portuguese Award and it means this blog invests in and believes that blogging makes us close. Proximidade translated to English means vicinity, or neighbourhood.

Here is the statement I am supposed to post...

"They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text."

I think that's Portuguinglish for "Be sure to pass it on."  Eight people just seems like  a lot, but I can do it!

Reggy.  Because she's tons of fun.
Stan.  He really didn't have to.  And he really doesn't have to post the award if he doesn't want to 'cause it's not very baseball-ish. 
Angelika.  Even though she doesn't do memes.  She recently experienced God and I appreciate her sharing it.
Zyriana.  Who has put up a really brave front in the midst of the pain.
Carole.   Who throws a good party!  (And has a cool name.)
And Susan Helene.   Who hangs out with me even though...

Oh, wait! 

I could use a little advice.  What's a good way to add a (semi-long) blogroll-ish link exchange in a sidebar that features the favored bloggers, but isn't obtrusive and doesn't look like advertisements?  I'd like something classy, perhaps on the minimalist side, but functional. It will be reserved for music blogs and musician blogs.

Are the drop-downs in my right-hand sidebar good or too hidden?  Is there some other option out there that you like and I could consider?

Woo hoo!! Thanks for the award!! As for your blogroll, I'm not sure... I'll be honest and say that I think you have too much on your sidebars at the moment; particularly the right side - also I don't know what drop-downs you're referring to so uhm I guess that would make it too hidden?

I'm afraid that despite giving a criticism about your sidebar I don't have any suggestions :( and I hate doing that but I really can't think of anything.

Oh wait! I've seen some people a seperate page for their 'buttons', but I don't know if that's an option for you because it means they won't be on the front page?

Anyway, Congratulations again!! You're my favourite band geek!

Thank you for the award. It's a beauty. As for the blogroll, It's too bad other setups can't allow for you to drop it below your postings, or add another button to the main page and place it there, which will take it off the main page, but that's Ok.
